Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Arrival in Lima

    Welcome to Lima, the “City of Kings” and the undeclared Culinary Capital of Latin America. Upon arrival at Gorge Chavez International Airport, meet our representative and your private driver for your 45-minute drive to the Miraflores Park Hotel, located on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

  • Day 2

    Lima

    Breakfast at the Miraflores Park is served ‘al fresco’ at the roof-top restaurant, overlooking the ocean. Enjoy their homemade pastry, fresh cut exotic fruits and excellent coffee. What a place to start your day. Meet your private guide and drive through the modern city’s highlights to the Old City of Lima. Stroll around the Colonial Landmarks and monuments that earned the historical center of Lima an inclusion in UNESCO's "World Heritage" list. Visit Casa Aliaga, America's best preserved colonial mansion, occupied by the same family since 1535. Then explore the Santo Domingo Convent, one of the oldest and most historic buildings in Lima. On to the San Marcos University, founded in 1551, the first university in America, and the alma mater of many of America's finest intellectuals and politicians. Enjoy lunch at Malabar restaurant where we will sample its famous Pisco Mojito and the culinary creations of Pedro Miguel Schiafino. In the afternoon, drive to the Pueblo Libre district, to visit the Larco Herrera Museum, housed in an 18th century colonial mansion that holds the most extensive collection of pre-Columbian art in Peru. It contains fine examples of textile work, one of which has a World record-breaking 398 threads per inch, as well as the tools ancient Peruvians used to make metals, Huaco ceramics and gold and silver pieces with semiprecious stones. Tonight, dinner at Toshiro's, where we sample Japanese specialties with a Peruvian “twist”. (b,l,d)

  • Day 3

    Lima

    Rise and Shine! Early morning departure into the famous fish market in Villa Maria del Triunfo, offering an unimaginable variety of freshly caught fish and seafood. Return to your hotel for breakfast before we depart again to the local produce market to choose some of the ingredients that will be used in the preparation of today’s lunch. At a local restaurant, one of the preferred ones by Limeños, learn how to prepare the Peruvian National Drink, the Pisco sour and two of the most typical dishes of the coast of Peru: the famous “Cebiche”, the delicious “Causa” stuffed with crab. The afternoon will be spent at your leisure, for shopping at the Indian Craft Market, the open-air mall of Larco Mar or just relax at your hotel. Tonight, dinner at ‘Rafael’. The restaurant, in the modern European style, is the perfect environment for this fusion of culinary styles which has ever more adherents both in Peru and abroad. (b,l,d)

    Depart Lima

    The day is spent at your leisure to choose from available optional tours such as private collections, Pre-Inca archaeological sites, a visit to the Gold Museum, or further exploration of the Peruvian Gastronomic scene. Later, transfer to the airport for your flight to the next destinations in Peru or Latin America (b)
